In 2020, Marcomm Works led the planning, facilitation and reporting back on Strathcona County’s Waste Management Roadmap Public Engagement Project. The initial plan included a variety of in-person engagements supplemented by online surveys. This plan completely changed with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, 2020. We changed gears to help the County prepare its most comprehensive online survey ever, developed and facilitated the County’s first-ever online discussion boards, and developed and facilitated multiple online focus groups. County stakeholders voiced their appreciation for the County continuing to hear their voices despite the obstacles presented by the pandemic. Lastly, we prepared reports back for each set of engagements and helped prepare an overall report back for County Council.
